The evening’s keynote speaker, U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Niles, said the innovators recognized at the awards banquet represented a “resilience in our community that needs to be honored and celebrated.” Rep. Ryan said the current economic turmoil also provided a time for Northeast Ohio “to step out and take hold of the opportunity to lead” by exploiting its knowledge base in areas such as biosciences and advanced materials.
