Diabondtm is a family of engineered diamond powders specially de-signed to improve bonding in metallic matricies including nickel-, cobalt-, copper-, and aluminum-based binders. Applications include metal-bond diamond wheels, diamond compacts and cermets, diamond hardfacing products, high conductivity substrates, and other thermal and abrasive prouducts.
Diabondtm powders are comprised of dimond grains that have been en-mium, chromium carbide, tungsten, tungsten carbide, copper, aluminum, silicon, or rhenium. These coated diamond powders typically show a three-fold increase in diamond retention, extending life and increasing thermal conductivity and strength of the diamond compacts made using Powder-met’s engineered diamond particles.
Diabondtm coating materials currently offerd include: Re, Ni, Co, W, Wc, Cr, Cr3C2, Ti(C,N), Si, SiC, AI, and Cu.
