Powdermet, Inc. performs toll fluidized bed manufacturing and develops custom-designed engineered particulates. Approximately 50% of Powdermet’s business is producing pilot and production quantities of engineered particulates to customer specifications. Depending upon customer requirements, Powdermet can assist in developing engineered material products and can manufacture engineered particulates in limited and bulk quantities to customer specifications. Under a license agreement, Powdermet can set up the customer for in-house manufacture of engineered particulates using Powdermet’s patented, R&D 100 Award winning (2000) Recirculating Fast-fluidized Bed Chemical Vapor Deposition (RFFBCVD) process, while providing interim and second-source toll manufacturing capabilities.
Powdermet employs a highly trained staff of materials and process scientists addressing needs in the areas of catalysts, electronic and magnetic materials, pigments, composites, high temperature structures, friction and wear materials, corrosion resistant structures and ceramic materials.
