RESEARCH SCIENTIST

Powdermet, Inc. offers the opportunity to become a leader in the nanoengineered materials field by joining our team as a Research Scientist.

This materials and process engineering position is responsible for developing chemical vapor deposition (CVD) fluidized bed processes to produce engineered particles. The ideal candidate will be able to lead technical efforts in developing materials for aerospace (space and missile), nuclear, electronics and other applications. Detailed understanding of microstructure-processing-properties effects on magnetic and thermal composite materials is essential, as is knowledge of CVD processes and chemistries. This hands-on position requires the ability to work in a chemical engineering laboratory environment and thorough knowledge of laboratory practices and safety procedures. Exceptional writing and communication skills are essential, as the position requires proposal generation, technical paper and report writing and technical collaboration on writing projects with other engineers. Experience in writing SBIR/STTR proposals is preferred.

The right candidate must be a United States citizen, possess a graduate degree in a materials-related discipline, be self-motivated and interested in developing and launching new value-added, custom designed and engineered materials based on powder metallurgy fabrication techniques.

LABORATORY TECHNICIANS

Powdermet seeks Laboratory Technicians to work with CVD process equipment, chemicals and procedures.  Qualified candidates will have a strong interest in science, and good math and communication skills.
